Lithuania
has the smallest coastline of the Baltic countries, but what
a coastline it is! Here you will find some of the region's
most unique and stunning areas of coastal beauty. The Curonian
Spit is the ultimate holiday destination for those looking
for peace and quiet. Long stretches of white sandy beaches
backed by some of the highest sand dunes in Europe, flanked
on one side by the Curonian lagoon and on the other, the Baltic
Sea. Pretty fishing villages with their colourful wooden houses
and flower displays, are hidden by the surrounding pine trees
and make ideal places to stay for rest and relaxation. This
is a nature lovers paradise, where moose, wild boar and foxes
roam the forests.

If
you're looking for a more lively seaside holiday, then look
no further than Palanga on the Lithuanian mainland. Palanga
is the summer capital of Lithuania, popular with the young
for the social scene and with families for the vast array
of activities on offer. The best thing about Palanga is that
it is lively with bars, cafes and restaurants and lots of
entertainment - but it's Lithuanian through and through. This
is not Brits abroad, this is not Ibiza! You may well be the
only westerners in town, but you will get by just fine in
English. Palanga has the same white sandy beaches and pine
trees as the Curonian Spit, and Palanga too has its quiet
corners, but ultimately Palanga epitomises holiday fun!
