The
Estonian landscape is dotted with castles and manor houses
in various states of decay or spectacular renovation. These
architectural gems are remnants of the country's former wealth
and fortune. After being neglected and abandoned to dereliction
during Soviet times, many have been brought back to life thanks
to careful restoration.
Many of these manor houses are well worth visiting just to
enjoy the architecture and gardens, but as some of them have
been transformed into luxurious and unique hotels it is even
better to indulge in an overnight stay!
